On the road to Cherrygrove City

Cheerful, Rose and Kecleon were running through the fields of Route 29, eager to get her first badge from Violet City. They were hopping through rocks and Kecleon was scratching the tall grass, trying to cut it. Rose was hoping to raise Kecleon's speed by doing this exercise.

As they were happily getting through Route 29, something, a bit further from them, moved in the grass.

- "Kecleon, wanna go see what it is?"

- "Keckle! Kecleon!

And so Kecleon disappeared, leaving only it's little zigzag floating towards the moving greens.

[Chronos]

Kecleon was approching silently, but before he could arrive and the spot of grass, a Pidgey flew up high over Rose's head.

''Piiidgey!''

The bird pokemon was looking straight at Rose, waiting for something. It was hovering about 2 meters from the ground, flapping its wings.

[Rose Scavengar]

Rose looked at the challenging Pidgey. She grinned.

- ''A pidgey! All right!''

She took out her pokedex.

''Pidgey, the tiny bird pokemon. Common in grassy areas and forests, it is very docile and will chase off enemies by flapping up sand.''

- ''Great! A flying pokemon! You're ready, Kecleon? We're gonna get this Pidgey!''

Kecleon had reappeared.

- ''Keckle, kecleon!''

- ''Right! Now, Kecleon, use Astonish to get closer, then jump and use Scratch to get Pidgey back on the ground!''

[Chronos]

Kecleon used a well performed astonish, scaring the foe Pidgey and making it flinch in mid-air, which gave the lizard pokemon plenty of time to jump and scratch the opponent. The Pidgey dropped down to the ground on the impact, just as Rose planned it. But the bird pokemon wasn't finished. It flapped its wings very hard, making dust fly all the way to Kecleon, which couldn't see the pidgey very well now.

Though something strange occured: Kecleon's skin turned light brown and cracked, as if it was hard sand.

Off character: remember, Color change.

Off character: Yeah, I remember very well

Kecleon was almost blinded by the surrounding dust. Also, its skin change was new to Rose - though she remembered very well what prof. Elm said about it. But seeing it happen is totaly different.

- ''Kecleon, you need to focus! You're doing great! Now, aim the Pidgey well, and strike with Bind to trap it, then use a powerful Lick!''

[Chronos]

In spite of the floating dust, Kecleon ran straight towards the Pidgey and trapped it with its tail. Then, with its long tongue, it slapped the bird pokemon's head and paralysed it completely. The Pidgey is still able to battle, but is uncapable to move, making it too vulnerable. Maybe it is ready to be catched!

[Rose Scavengar]

- ''You are awsome Kecleon!''

- ''Kecleon!''

- ''A pokeball should work now!''

Rose took the only pokeball she had, and, with grace, threw it towards the pidgey. The ball opened, abducted the pidgey with its red beam and closed. It fell on the ground, but it was still moving. Kecleon and Rose were looking at it carefully.

[Chronos]

Kecleon's tail curled back and its body's color shaded back to normal. Meanwhile, the pokeball was still moving.

Right nudge.

Left nudge.

Right nudge.

Wild PIDGEY was caught!
